Google Home Support for Old Nest Cameras Coming Soon

Google Home Support Still Coming for Old Nest Cameras

In a recent AMA on Reddit by the Google Home team, they revealed that old Nest cameras are still getting Google Home support in the future, and said that they are currently working on this integration for the future integration.

The team addressed this concern by users, especially those who still cannot add their old Nest cameras to the platform for its functions and capabilities to be available on the app.

New and more recent Nest releases are compatible with the Google Home app, which offers a way for users to enjoy these features under one smart home hub.

Google Seeing Technical Difficulties for Home Support

Google's Community Managers and Product team shared that they are still seeing several technical challenges in making this experience available on the app.

Despite these roadblocks, the team is still committed to delivering this connected experience for the Home app, especially for long-time Nest users, with Google citing the cameras released as early as 2015.

Previously, it faced a bug that turned off the Live View, telling users that they are offline despite being connected to their home network, Google working on a fix for this.

The latest and newer Nest cameras offer users easy integration with the Google Home app, enabling an all-in-one experience that allows them to control and monitor their devices directly from the platform.

However, for those who own older devices, do not fear, as Google is still working on this home integration, which will soon offer users a chance to use the platform for all available functions, controls, and other features.
