A new update from Meta Quest lets users use the Quest 3 and other compatible headsets while lying down, which means that you could take your VR and mixed-reality experience to bed.

Before this, users could only use the Quest headsets in an upright position. They are now available under an experimental experience that will help you customize the view to your needs.

Moreover, Meta's latest Quest update, available now for download and installation on the company's headsets, offers a lot more to enjoy.

Meta released a new update for the Quest alongside several Quest 3-specific updates that offer significant upgrades to the wearable headset platform.

Under the version 64 build, Meta adds the feature that users may lie down in recumbency while using the headset. It is available under Experimental in Settings, as it is still part of the testing experience, where users could turn on "Use Apps While Lying Down."

Through this feature, users need to hold down the menu button to reset the view when they are sitting down or up.

Quest 3 also adds external mic support via a USB-C port under the Experimental settings.

More features were available under build v64 and offered to all eligible Quest headsets for updates. These center on livestream casting continuing despite removing the headset and directly joining friends in Horizon Worlds.

Additionally, Meta introduced massive passthrough improvements, including better resolution through the pipeline and upgrades to its image quality.

Meta Quest and What It Offers

Quest is known for offering a significant virtual and augmented reality experience, first centering on VR before the arrival of XR with the Quest 3.

However, some features came and went, including the fan-favorite experience where users may stream their Quest feed directly to Chromecast, with many users reporting the missing feature.

Previously, Meta also released the beta feature that brought Xbox Cloud Gaming to the Quest headset, expanding the features available on the platform for an online gaming experience.

It was made available to the Quest headsets' beta testing experience, offering a chance to expand gaming access via the Xbox Cloud platform.

Quest has also introduced more mixed-reality features with the Quest 3's capabilities, centering on improved Passthrough features alongside augmented experiences that look to match the Vision Pro.

Now, users would no longer need to stay upright to enjoy the augmented and virtual reality experiences on Quest 3, alongside new features available in this Quest update.
