The upcoming PvP shooter game from Marvel Entertainment and NetEase Games, Marvel Rivals, has released a new teaser trailer which reveals a new map coming upon its release called 'Yggsgard.'

However, it reveals more than a new map for the game, with the dominion having Loki as its leader; it also teases a character that may or may not come, Hela, the Asgardian goddess of death.

There is already massive hype for Marvel Rivals, which will begin its alpha testing this May.

Marvel Entertainment released a new map reveal for Marvel Rivals, now featuring "Yggsgard" as a location for players to go for an all-out shooter action. Yggsgard is best known as a hybrid version of Thor's home, Asgard, and the Norse mythology's world tree, Yggdrasill.

However, the showcased map is not the only thing which the map reveal showed, but also a portrait of Hela, 14 seconds into the clip, with Danny Koo, senior director of the game, claiming that it is full of easter eggs.

Now, this may mean nothing, but could also point to the possibility of Hela coming to the game soon.

The map's lore reads, "After the Timestream Entanglement, Asgard fused with Yggdrasill, the World Tree that connects all Ten Realms. Now Loki, the God of Mischief, uses his tricks to seize control and build his new kingdom: Yggsgard in Marvel Rivals."

Marvel Games and Experiences

While many regard Marvel as lagging behind DC's game releases, the Disney-owned company is still making significant efforts to catch up. Some of the top Marvel games include the Marvel's Spider-Man franchise, best known to be under Insomniac Games and Sony Entertainment.

The franchise led to a Miles Morales spin-off and an upcoming solo story for Wolverine.

In 2022, it was announced that Electronic Arts' Motive Studios and Marvel are developing a new solo story for one of the comics' most famous Avengers, Iron Man, centering on a standalone, third-person POV title.

Additionally, there is also the Marvel Midnight Suns, a 2022-released role-playing game from Firaxis, and 2K, known for its expanding roster, recently adding the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool.

With another game from the comic book company coming soon to showcase the old-school Avengers before the team was formed, Marvel 1943, more games are making their way to development to expand more of its gaming offers.

The company's next title is Marvel Rivals, which is soon to begin alpha testing and features massive content, including the new Yggsgard Map and a possible Hela addition.
