Good news for Disney+ users: live sports and new ESPN shows are coming to the media streaming platform courtesy of the company. They will be made available later this year, before 2024 ends.

It was recently revealed by The Walt Disney Company CEO himself, Bob Iger, during an earnings call with investors as the company discussed its Q2 2024 review following massive changes to the app.

While the ESPN integration is coming later this year, Disney+ will first see the anticipated arrival of Hulu to the streaming platform, offering more content to US users under one service.

The latest Disney Q2 2024 earnings call had its CEO, Bob Iger, revealing more about the plans for later this year, and this is the upcoming ESPN integration to Disney+ before 2024 ends.

According to Iger, the company will soon be adding ESPN's selected live games and shows to Disney+'s streaming platform with a dedicated tile, similar to the featured content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and more.

Moreover, this is part of the company's plans to feature more of ESPN to its current Disney+ audience, with the confirmed ESPN standalone app coming by fall 2025.

What kind of ESPN content will arrive on Disney+ remains unknown, especially as the renowned channel is home to various sports and shows.

Disney+'s Hulu and ESPN Integration for US Only

If this arrives, Disney+ will be a streaming powerhouse in the future, particularly as it features significant content offers alone. However, it has recently introduced the Hulu integration and is heading toward ESPN's addition.

This would be under the Disney Bundle subscription featuring the three content platforms under Disney+ and exclusive to the US region only.

Disney+ and What It Has To Offer

The dedicated Disney streaming platform, Disney+, is now one of the top-known services in the world, catching up to its rival, Netflix, with its unique content offers.

Recently, it launched the Hulu integration, which makes the streaming platform's content available under one app but is exclusive to Disney Bundle subscribers.

Another experience part of the Disney Bundle is ESPN+, which presently centers on an app where sports entertainment is available to stream.

Soon, it will have a standalone app to bring you all the latest in the world of sports, one that can be purchased separately. For now, it is still available as part of the bundle to deliver fast-paced action.

While ESPN is still touted for its unique and standalone experience, some aspects of it are being developed for its Disney+ integration under the renowned bundle subscription.

Later this year, bundle subscribers in the US may soon see the dedicated ESPN tile on the Disney+ app, which will offer live sports and exclusive shows for fans to watch.
