Well, it's finally here: the iPad version of WhatsApp. You can download it now on the App store and get a ton of iPad-centric features like Stage Manager, Split View, and Slide Over.

The company shared a short tweet on Tuesday announcing the availability of the new app, accompanied by a blog post over on its website.

"View multiple apps at once, so you can send messages while browsing the web, or research options for a group trip while on a call together," wrote the company on its blog post. "WhatsApp also works with your Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil."

WhatsApp launched in 2009 and was acquired in 2014 by Facebook, just as competitor Telegram came on the scene in 2013. Apple's iPad came out in 2010, just after WhatsApp's original release date.

Before today, WhatsApp users with an iPad have been forced to manage workarounds like the WhatsApp web version, or third-party tools to access their messages on their Apple tablet. Now they can chat with cross-device sync, make voice and video calls, and more, all on iPad.

Competitor Telegram shared a funny tweet response to the announcement, as well, wondering what year it was.

Meta's Instagram is also unavailable on iPad, though there are rumors that its working on one, as reported by The Information, via Tech Crunch.

Twitter user Omar also pointed this out in another cute tweet:

WhatsApp isn't beyond posting a cute little tweet itself, with this little secret "looking at" emoji posted yesterday in response to a Twitter user who posted a request for the app to come to iPad:
