It's launch day for Elden Ring: Nightreign so of course we have a day one patch.
The update for this highly anticipated title for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam offers quite a few improvements, adjustments, and bug fixes, according to Namco Bandai's post.
The patch is available now across platforms, and the company said it "aims to improve gameplay and stability." You'll want to download and apply this update before you launch the game.
Once applied, you'll see App Ver. 1.01 and RegulationVer. 1.01.1 at the bottom right of the screen, Bandai Namco said. The patch itself should include improved handling of playable characters, additions and adjustments to the soundtrack, text and balance adjustments, added character scenarios, and a host of bug fixes.
Apparently, some PC configurations with the latest GPU cards might experience frame rate drops, which can be resolved, said the company, by setting the graphics from the default High to Medium or Low settings, and lowering the screen resolution. You'll also want to make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.
In addition, if you are unable to start the game on your PC, you might be able to fix that in Steam by going to Library, then right-clicking on Elden Ring Nightreign, then Properties. Select Installed Files and then Verify Integrity of Game Files.
If you're running the console version, the update should take care of itself when you launch the game for the first time today.
