Ever wonder how healthy your pet actually is? Wouldn't it be great to know that something was potentially a problem before an emergency vet visit?
New York-based tech company Fi just released what it claims is the first AI-powered smart dog collar with GPS tracking and a suite of health and behavior detection, called the Series 3+. The company has been making smart dog collars since 2019, with each successive model getting smaller and better at tracking.
"Our technology is pushing the limits of what your dog's collar can do," said Jonathan Bensamoun, Founder and CEO of Fi, in a statement. "Series 3+ is the first dog wearable that can accurately pick up behaviors like barking, licking, scratching, eating, and drinking – everyday changes that tend to go unnoticed but can signal important health markers. With Series 3+ we are also releasing our best GPS yet, which can make the difference between life and death if your dog escapes."
This kind of wearable tech for dogs is part of a growing market for smart pet technology, where real-time data and AI work together to improve daily care.
The latest model promises real-time insights to your dog's activity and sleep, with new ways to detect scratching, licking, barking, eating, and drinking. The Fi Series 3+ promises more GPS sensitivity than the previous version along with Apple Watch integration so you can see what your doggo is up to right on your wrist.
The company says it trained its AI on "the largest collection of dog data in the world," using "hundreds of dog breeds in real life environments." Fi promises the Series 3+ can capture subtle changes in your best friend's behavior with 80% accuracy, which then gets interpreted by the AI to help you understand what it all means.
Knowing when your pet slows down, changes how much they drink, or start scratching a lot can cue you into a potential issue. That kind of early signal is exactly what a dog health tracker or AI-powered dog health monitor is built to detect. That's when you can take your fur baby to the vet and start preventative care instead of waiting for a larger problem.
The Fi app can also use its AI to analyze vet records, bills, or insurance documents you upload to add some context to your dog's health data.
The Fi Series 3+ smart dog collar for dog behavior tracking is available now at tryfi.com and will roll out to places like Amazon, Costco, and Chewy in the coming months. You'll also need a membership to use the device, which starts at $14 per month.
