Despite the long reign of Adobe for photo editing software and its presence on mobile devices, the company has only just released the main Photoshop app for Android.

To top it all off, the Adobe Photoshop app for Android is available for free in its current release, and users may take advantage of the mobile editing experience without worrying about purchasing the app or subscribing.

Adobe Photoshop for Android: Now Available For Free

The official Adobe Photoshop app for Android is now live on the Google Play Store, and it delivers the legitimate experience that users enjoyed on their computers through the years it has been available.

However, it is important to note that the experience is still in its beta testing phase and may bring several issues or bugs along the way, but it promises improved capabilities in all things photo editing.

Adobe now invites users to try out the Photoshop experience that has been tailored for the mobile platform, and this will also help the company share various improvements to the Android experience along the way. For now, the Adobe Photoshop app for Android is available for free, considering that it is in beta, and leverages various premium tools for users to enjoy.

One of the biggest features available on Adobe Photoshop for Android is the generative AI technology, which users are now enjoying on the desktop version. This includes features like Generative Fill, smart selection of subjects, and adding AI-generated images that are licensed by Adobe.

Here's Why This Is Better Than Previous Apps

According to ArsTechnica, this is the first legitimate Adobe Photoshop app to arrive on Android, particularly as the company started late in its delivery of the photo editing app on mobile platforms.

That being said, this is the third Photoshop app the company released for mobile, but these other versions are mainly focused on offering a unique experience for mobile and not one for computers.

With this release, Adobe is including almost the entire suite of tools that users enjoy on the desktop version of the software, including the presence of the Creative Cloud that would be in charge of the massive processes.

Adobe previously released the Photoshop Express and Photoshop Touch apps on mobile platforms, but these were already delisted and are not quite like the desktop experience.

Adobe's Photoshop Over the Years

Adobe's Photoshop has been the standard for many years in the creative and technological space, and the company is still powering through despite the emergence of generative AI that can potentially replace it.

Instead of cowering from AI's dominance, Adobe developed an artificial intelligence of its own and included it in its renowned editing suite, including Photoshop.

With the many platforms Photoshop is available in, it is now adding a new experience that takes mobile editing to the next level.
