'Pokémon Legends: Z-A' Leak: Fans Question New Mega Evolution Rumor, Citing AI-Generated Concerns

Fans are welcoming leaks but not AI-generated ones.

'Pokemon Legends: Z-A' Has its Own Version of 'The Purge'

"Pokémon Legends: Z-A" leaks are giving fans bits and pieces on what to expect from the game, but not all are convincing to them, particularly the latest Mega Evolution rumor shared online.

Instead of being hyped or excited with the latest scoop, fans are questioning whether this new Mega Evolution rumor is a scam that was made with generative artificial intelligence.

Fans Question AI-Generated 'Pokemon Legends: Z-A' Leak

A new leak by a source known as "Centro LEAKS" via X has now stirred a long conversation among Pokémon fans, particularly as many speculate that this new information may be AI-generated.

The latest rumor talks about a Generation VI creature known as "Dragalge," best known for its first appearance in the Kalos region introduced in "Pokémon X and Y."

Despite not having any specific mentions of which game it will appear on, fans assumed that this leak is for "Pokémon Legends: Z-A," the next installment of the franchise that will be available for both the past-gen Switch and the new Switch 2.

According to ComicBook Gaming, the image shared by the leaker showed off a new look for Dragalge, particularly its Mega Evolution look.

However, many were immediately skeptical of what they saw from the leak, particularly as several parts and elements of the image were somewhat "off" or strange looking for some fans. Some of the reasons cited by the fans noted how there was a strange background, odd colors of the Pokémon, and an inconsistent design, which led many to wonder if this was AI-generated.

That being said, others were more concerned that this leak may be a potential spoiler for the upcoming game, citing how Centro Leaks did not share any spoiler warnings or filters for the latest information.

Mega Evolution Leak AI Concerns

Some users have been utilizing X's tools to detect if an image or content shared was fake or AI-generated, with one user tagging xAI's Grok chatbot in the comments to verify its legitimacy. According to Grok's response, the Mega Evolution version of Dragalge shared by Centro Leaks "is likely not real," citing a community analysis on Reddit claiming that the image was AI-generated.

Additionally, there is no information that supports a Mega Dragalge version from sources like Bulbapedia or Serebii, mainly because past games of the franchise did not have a Mega Evolution for the creature.

A Mega Dragalge may be one of the new Pokémon that "Legends Z-A" will introduce to the game once it releases later this year, but that has yet to be confirmed as of writing.

As per ComicBook Gaming's report, Dragalge is not originally part of the Mega-capable Pokémon list, and since "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" has not yet released any information, there is no way of verifying if this information is legitimate.
