Papaya, a tech company formerly known as Papaya Gaming, is redefining the mobile tournament experience with its new city-building feature, TOWNS, now live across all its games. The feature typically unlocks at level five across all Papaya games and allows players to gradually build unique themed cities by earning Golden Nuggets, an in-game currency rewarded through tournament play.
Unlike traditional city-builders, TOWNS challenges players to construct their cities tile by tile, offering a slower, more strategic gameplay layer. Each city includes seven distinct buildings, and every city introduces a unique visual theme. With themes ranging from Underwater worlds to Satellites and Carnival settings, TOWNS offer visual variety and long-term engagement.
Since its launch, Papaya has introduced performance-boosting additions like "Nugget Rush," which can double or triple a player's earnings, and discount boosters, which reduce the costs of tiles, therefore enabling players to progress faster.
Additionally, players who complete a city are rewarded with bonuses like cash, gems, and sometimes even collectible cards before advancing to the next city. With 77 cities currently available and new city packs released every three weeks, players follow a shared, fixed progression path, building a sense of community and competition. A built-in map helps track progress and see what's coming next.
Looking ahead, Papaya is teasing a new direction with a competitive multiplayer expansion that will allow players to attack other users' cities and steal "Nuggets." While details remain limited, insiders hint this will introduce a more social and interactive dimension to the platform's gameplay, marking another leap in Papaya's effort to blend creativity with competition.
