Players have recently discovered a hack to get more shinies in "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" using what they call the "shiny duplication glitch" that would surely make your box glitter with these rare Pokémons.
Shiny Pokémon continue to be a rare sighting in the game as is the case with previous titles, but Game Freak has introduced new mechanics to those who are fond of "shiny hunting" to collect the special versions of the creatures.
'Pokémon Legends: Z-A' Shiny Duplication Glitch
Many players are claiming that spotting or spawning shiny Pokémon in the latest "Legends Z-A" game is easy, but there are still a handful who find it hard to spot these special versions in-game.
There are many proven methods for forcing the spawn of a shiny in a specific location, but according to the latest report from GameRant, players have recently discovered a method that duplicates their availability.
The new "Shiny Duplication Glitch" method takes advantage of the shiny spawn mechanics introduced by Game Freak in this latest title, particularly as it guarantees a shiny to appear in the same place the next day even if users fail to catch it or if it runs away.
Almost all Shiny Pokémon are "skiddish" and would run away when spotted by a trainer, but thanks to the game mechanics, they could spawn in the same place and time on the next day.
That being said, the base encounter rate for Shiny Pokémon in the game remains at 1 in 4,096 and remains a challenge for other gamers to even spot, encounter, and/or catch them.
How to Catch Duplicate Shinies In-Game?
The Shiny Duplication Glitch, as attested by players who have discovered it, requires various steps to ensure that they will get duplicated in-game.
- Step 1: Find a shiny Pokémon
- Step 2: Draw aggression (one where it spots you, gets alerted, and has the "!" symbol atop it), and run away until it stops following
- Step 3: Immediately hard save the game (going to the X menu and pressing 'R'), quit the game from the main screen, and relaunch it
- Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3, and ensure that the shiny Pokémon is at least 70 meters away from its spawn location
- Step 5: Catch the Shiny Pokémon
- Step 6: Return to its original spawn point to catch the duplicate
The first shiny that users would draw away from its spawn point would remain as the originally encountered shiny variant in the game. After catching it, users could go back to the shiny's original spawn point, where they could encounter it again and catch this duplicated variant, hence the duplication glitch.
It is important to note that trainers need to draw the shiny Pokémon away by a minimum of 70 meters for this to work, as well as immediately saving, quitting, and restarting the game.
The duplicated shiny Pokémon would have the same nature, stats, level, moves, and IV values as the originally caught one. It remains unconfirmed as of press time if Nintendo or Game Freak has already detected and patched this exploit.
