'Marvel Rivals' Confirms Rogue, Gambit as Next Heroes to Debut—New Mutant Also Teased to Join Soon

The star-crossed husband and wife X-Men duo are joining 'Marvel Rivals' soon.

"Marvel Rivals" has confirmed the two new heroes joining the game soon, and it is the X-Men's iconic husband-and-wife duo of Rogue and Gambit, who will debut in the upcoming new season of the action shooter.

'Marvel Rivals' Confirms Rogue, Gambit Debuting Next Season

Season 4 may have been extended slightly by NetEase Games, but the good thing is Season 5 is fast approaching, with the team already confirming the debut of Rogue and Gambit.

"Marvel Rivals" Season 5 will feature the "Live is a Battlefield" theme, and it is heavily inspired by the pair's marriage. According to Gizmodo, the new season of "Marvel Rivals" is loosely based on the "X-Men: Gold" comic, which was first published in 2018, focusing on the pair's marriage.

In the game's adoption of the comic, the events will take place in Krakoa, the in-comic and in-game sentient island, which eventually became a haven for the mutants. The game's lore switches up the events, as instead of seeing a happy marriage between the two heroes, it would see Season 5's event disrupt their union by a timestream entanglement.

This timestream entanglement is also noted to be the main reason behind "Marvel Rivals'" mashup and is yet again disrupting events in-game.

New Mutant Also Teased to Join 'Marvel Rivals' Soon

The showcase also further confirms that Season 5 will drop by Friday, November 14, and let players take up new challenges, missions, and more in the game. "Marvel Rivals" and NetEase Games has not yet confirmed which X-Men will drop first in the game.

That said, the story they presented implies that Gambit may be the first to debut as he wants to present Rogue with the rarest ring to prove his love and his worthiness.

Apart from the confirmation of Rogue and Gambit, there was also another X-Men team member who was teased, and it potentially hints at their arrival in the game soon.

It is being teased that X-Men's field leader and eventual co-headmaster Scott Summers/Cyclops will join the game.

Scott was seen in the teaser helping Rogue and Gambit with their wedding preparations and was also a guest at the ceremony.

The latest teaser from NetEase Games also has a treat for "X-Men 97" fans as the original voice actors for Rogue and Gambit, Lenore Zann and A.J. LoCascio, were invited to reprise their roles for their arrival in the game.
