The much-awaited "Splinter Cell" remake has finally broken its years-long silence as a recent discovery online is now making many fans excited for the game.

'Splinter Cell' Remake Gets Exciting Update

One of the world's most beloved franchises is set to have a remake, but fans have long questioned Ubisoft for any updates on "Splinter Cell's" developments. Now, there seems to be a new update to the long-awaited game.

GamesRadar spotted a new update on LinkedIn from David Grivel, the renowned game director of the franchise, announcing that he is back to serve as the game director for the "Splinter Cell: Remake."

Grivel is known for leaving his position as the game director of the "Splinter Cell" franchise three years ago to join Electronic Arts' Ridgeline Games team, best known for working on "Battlefield 6." However, when the studio closed down in 2024, Grivel departed the development of the FPS game and returned to Ubisoft.

In his post, Grivel expressed that he is ecstatic to be reunited with the "Splinter Cell" franchise and join the development of the title, and he is set to reprise his role as the remake's director. Before he departed for Ridgeline Games, Grivel already had a vision for what the "Splinter Cell: Remake" would deliver to the public, according to ComicBook Gaming.

What to Expect from Ubisoft's 'Splinter Cell'

It has already been 23 years since Ubisoft first debuted "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell" and introduced a game that focused more on stealth operations and deep government drama. The original game was highly regarded by players for its immersive experiences, as well as its stellar graphics during its time, making it one of the most successful franchises in history.

However, it is known that the "Splinter Cell" franchise took a turn that many fans did not appreciate, with "Splinter Cell: Blacklist" failing to hit its mark and appeal to its fanbase. Since then, talk of a remake became more apparent as other franchises have decided to recreate their iconic games for modern experiences, complete with all enhancements and improvements.

Since it is a remake, it is expected to still bank on its original story, missions, and more, including the focus on its main character, Sam Fisher, who has been the face of the franchise for decades. Ubisoft has still left much of the game's information hidden away, with fans only speculating on what would be delivered once it sees its launch.
