Most companies are solving the wrong problem. They are optimizing content for AI citation while leaving their payment and inventory infrastructure untouched. That is backwards. An AI agent that finds your product but cannot transact with your systems in milliseconds will route the sale elsewhere. The content layer matters. The infrastructure layer decides. Companies that invest in machine-readable APIs and tokenized payment rails before the rest of their industry will capture the algorithmic sales funnel. Those that treat this as a content marketing challenge will be surprised when they lose customers they never knew they had.
