"Pokémon Winds and Waves" discussions continue to spread across Reddit and other discussion communities as fans are coming up with various theories for the upcoming Gen 10 game.
Recently, fans have been actively speculating about cross-generation evolutions and regional variants that could fit an Indonesia-inspired setting while remaining consistent with established lore and biology-based design principles.
Community Speculation Sparks Creativity
One of the most discussed ideas on the "WiWa" subreddit involves Magcargo, the lava slug Pokémon. Fans propose a new evolution into a more defensive Fire/Steel form resembling a living fortress, sometimes jokingly referred to as "Marcargonaught."
The concept would significantly boost its durability while preserving its volcanic identity. Given its natural association with volcanic and tropical regions, supporters argue it would fit seamlessly into an Indonesia-inspired environment.
Fan-Favorite Evolution Concepts
Other fan proposals include Granbull, which many believe deserves a Fighting-type evolution to reflect its aggressive design.
Kilowattrel is also mentioned, with suggestions for a future evolution dubbed "Megawattrel," potentially gaining a powerful Electric move similar to Leaf Storm. Others believe that "Gigawattrel" could also be a part of the new split evolutions.
Additional ideas fans have come up with include Ledian evolving into a Bug/Fighting type and Sunflora receiving a Grass/Fire evolution inspired by tropical sunlight.
Regional Influence and Design Considerations
Some fans note that cross-generation evolutions may not always be tied directly to regional themes, but past examples such as Sirfetch'd and Perrserker demonstrate that new evolutions can still align with regional inspiration when designed thoughtfully.
This supports the idea that a WiWa-inspired region could introduce both new forms and evolutionary lines without disrupting existing Pokémon continuity.
Classic Pokémon Still in Demand
Beyond new concepts, fans are also requesting additional evolutions or regional variants for Pokémon, such as Arbok, Seviper, Psyduck, Golduck, Lanturn, and Hypno.
Speaking of Hypno, its base form, Drowzee, became a center of theories when someone released a pre-evolution mock of the Kanto Pokemon.
Since many leaks said we wouldn't be hearing any news about "Winds and Waves," the best thing that fans could do is wait for an official announcement from The Pokémon Company or simply browse Reddit to imagine new ideas.
