Lucasfilm Confirms Cal Kestis’ Adventures Continue—Is ’Star Wars Jedi 3‘ Coming Soon?

The future is bright for Cal Kestis.

While no confirmation has been made about "Star Wars Jedi 3," Lucasfilm has instead confirmed that they are developing more stories tied to Cal Kestis to continue the franchise.

Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm's "Star Wars Jedi" franchise is one of the most popular games under the "Star Wars" IP in recent years and, given that "Fallen Order" saw stellar reviews, a sequel could potentially complete its trilogy soon.

'Star Wars Jedi 3' Is Coming As Lucasfilm Discusses More Stories

During a conversation with GameRant regarding Disneyland attractions, a Disney representative confirmed that more Cal Kestis stories are coming.

"Never say never. We've got his lightsaber in the park. We've got more Cal stories coming," said the Lucasfilm representative.

This statement officially confirms that the studio is still committed to expanding the franchise, particularly the story of the survivor hero who was once a Padawan and now a full-fledged Jedi Knight.

A third installment in the "Star Wars Jedi" video game series is actively being produced, which many assume will conclude the current interactive trilogy as Cal still faces constant internal haunting from his past.

While the final timeline for that release remains unknown, the recent confirmation from Lucasfilm indicates the studio views Cal as a long-term asset for its franchise.

Cal Kestis' Story Lives On In Future Games

Cal first appeared in "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order" in 2019 as a young Jedi survivor navigating the dangerous aftermath of the historic Order 66 purge.

By the end of that game, Cal and his crew had escaped Imperial capture after destroying a Holocron containing the locations of Force-sensitive children. Rather than use it to rebuild the Jedi Order, Cal destroyed the Holocron to protect those children from being used as weapons.

His journey was then expanded further in a sequel, as well as a tie-in literary project. Despite being a wanted fugitive whose face appears across Imperial hubs, Cal has managed to remain hidden.

Up until recently, his only appearance outside the games occurred in the 2025 animated project "LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy," where actor Cameron Monaghan voiced a brick-based version of the character.
