The new 2016 Acura ILX sedan is launched into the market this week, with a starting price of $28,820 and a combined fuel mileage of 29 miles per gallon.

The 2016 Acura ILX, despite the many changes that the vehicle underwent compared to the 2015 version, will only be $900 more expensive compared to its predecessor, including destination charges. When compared with the manual-only 2015 Acura ILX 2.4, the new model has a lower price by $1,450.

The 2016 Acura ILX features an entirely new powertrain as the only choice for interested buyers, the direct-injected 2.4-liter I4 engine that is transplanted from the Acura TLX model, with figures of 201 horsepower and 180lb-ft. of torque. The engine is bolted to the vehicle's eight-speed dual clutch sequential manual transmission that was developed in-house.

The engine of the new Acura ILX is much more powerful compared to the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine of the 2015 Acura ILX.

The car's EPA fuel economy figures, as mentioned is a combined 29 miles per gallon for all the 2016 Acura ILX models, which is an improvement from the combined 28 miles per gallon that is the best rating that the 2015 Acura ILX received.

Features found in the 2016 Acura ILX include keyless entry, LED headlights, power driver's seat, push-button start, heated front seats, Bluetooth audio, and automated climate control.

The 2016 Acura ILX offers customers with four different packages, representing the varying trim levels of the vehicle.

The standalone AcuraWatch Plus package, which costs $1,300, offers drivers with a host of active features for safety, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assistance, collision-mitigation braking and blind-spot monitoring.

The 2016 Acura ILX also offers a Premium Package that has a price tag of $2,000. The package includes the power passenger's seat, a 7-inch touchscreen to be used with the vehicle's infotainment system, and an upgraded blind-spot monitor that alerts for rear cross-traffic.

In addition to the AcuraWatch Plus and Premium packages, customers also have the option to purchase the 2016 Acura ILX with the sporty A-spec package that included bigger 18-inch wheels, wider tires, a rear spoiler, and trims of aluminum and suede inside the car. Buyers can purchase the A-spec package along with the Premium package or with the ILX Tech Plus, which includes the AcuraWatch Plus package, the Premium package.

The 2016 Acura ILX Tech Plus will come with a price of $33,820 including destination charges, while the packed 2016 Acura ILX plus A-spec and Tech Plus packages will cost $35,810, placing it in the same price range as competitors Mercedes Benz CLA250 and Audi A3 1.8T.
