The Order: 1886 is attracting a lot of criticism after a full playthrough of the game leaked on YouTube. We sat down and watched around two hours of the story to determine whether this game deserves all shots being fired its way.

From what we've seen from the complete playthrough of The Order: 1886, which is no longer available on YouTube, the game is probably the most graphic intensive video game on the PlayStation 4 to date. Animation is also top notch, and the voice acting is excellent.

We like how certain parts of the central character's clothes bounce realistically when he's walking down a stairs in real-time. It just shows that Ready at Dawn placed a lot of effort into the graphics and animation, but such things are secondary when it comes down to what makes a game fun to play.

Bear in mind that we have never played the game, but judging from the playthrough, The Order: 1886 comes off as just another generic cover shooter with supernatural elements attached.

The most daunting thing about the game is how the enemy A.I. reacts to danger. They are not completely dumb, but dumb enough to get the drop on them without breaking much of a sweat. There was a section where some of the transformed half-breeds/werewolves attacked the main character, and all they did was to knock him down then run off.

It was quite strange watching this sequence because these creatures could have gone for the kill when the main man was on the ground. Instead, they chose to allow the player to rise up, and the same sequence was performed over and over until the creature was finally killed.

Seriously, this is some grade C stuff and very much a disappointment.

We also do not like the shooting mechanics as they came off as weak and limited.

From everything we've seen, The Order: 1886 is the PlayStation 4's version of Ryse: Son of Rome. Excellent graphics, filled with Quick Time Events, and a bland gameplay that fails to rouse the imagination.

We expect this game to get at least a 4/10 when the reviews are out.
