A mobile phone company based in Spain is working on a smart wristband that does almost everything other smart wristbands are capable of. The big game changer here is the fact that it can track the user's sexual performance.

The wristband is called "Geeksme," and it is probably the strangest fitness tracker aiming to make a significant dent in the market. Folks who are wearing geeksme can choose to put the device into 'sex mode' should they feel to monitor their sexual performance.

We're guessing this feature is mainly for males since they usually tend to do most of the physical work during sexual intercourse. We should point out that geeksme does not have any specialized hardware components inside to track a person's sexual stamina. The company says the device uses the same sensors found in other fitness trackers to get the job done.

"Sex is healthy and we want to associate that comfort with having a healthier lifestyle," says Ángel Sánchez, Director of Innovation at Geeksphone, the name of the company that designs the geeksme.

The primary goal of the sex mode feature is to collect information on how many times per day, week, and month a person have sex, along with how long per session and the amount of calories burnt. Having sex is similar to exercising, so we can see where the geeksme might find a niche market for itself.

Many fitness buffs around the world would love to track every aspect of their workout, which includes sexual intercourse, so we can see this product working well for them. However, it will always come down to whether or not the overall product is done well for it to be a success.

What do we think?

Well, we like the design more than anything else. It gives us that Moto 360 vibe, but hopefully it is more brains than looks because Motorola's attempt at a smartwatch was a disaster, one that looks quite excellent.

When should folks get ready to purchase the geeksme?

The creators hope to have the gadget on the market by June 2015. However, you know what? They should have made it available just time for Fifty Shades of Grey.
