Sony has officially unveiled the new batch of games that will be free in March for PlayStation Plus subscribers, and it's a great collection of titles from a number of different genres.

A total of six games will be free for the remainder of March, with two free games available for each Sony gaming platform (though some can be played on multiple platforms).

PlayStation 4 players have a number of new games to choose from, among them Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee -- New 'n' Tasty. This remasted version of the classic platformer Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee features improved visuals, sound and controls as Abe embarks on a quest to save his people.

Also free on PS4 is Ubisoft's Valiant Hearts: The Great War, a stylish and emotionally powerful title that follows the intersecting lives of a number of men and women who have found themselves involved in the first world war.

On the PS3 side of the fence, gamers will be able to download Papo & Yo and Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments. In Papo & Yo, players take on the role of Quico, a young boy who befriends a dangerous creature simply called Monster. Together the duo must solve various puzzles as they journey through a strange world. Sherlock Holmes puts players in the shoes of the legendary detective as you solve crimes and bring the accused to justice.

Last but certainly not least are the free games available for the PS Vita. These two titles -- OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood and CounterSpy -- are both available for download on the PS4 as well, with CounterSpy being the only title available on all three Sony platforms. OlliOlli 2 is the sequel to the indie skateboarding title OlliOlli, and will have players grinding and kickflipping their way to new high scores. CounterSpy is a slick 2D spy thriller, as players must prevent the world's superpowers from annihilating each other in nuclear war through subterfuge and gunplay.

As usual, it's an impressive line-up of games, with plenty of variety and genres to choose from. PlayStation gamers should have no trouble finding a game to occupy their time. For the free games coming to Xbox consoles this month, click here.
