Jada Pinkett Smith has been doing an excellent job as Fish Mooney on the hit TV show Gotham but is she willing to stay around for season 2? Rumors are claiming this is not the case, so we could witness Fish Mooney's death before the ending of season 1.

We understand that Smith signed a one-year deal with Fox to play the character, and now that year is up. The star went on Friday's Live with Kelly and Michael where she talked about Gotham and the future of her character on the show.

"I don't think so, no," Pinkett Smith said, when asked directly if she would return. "I signed for a year and the year is up. But there are some great things coming ahead on Gotham, believe you me. There's a lot of good stuff coming."

At the moment, Smith's character is trapped in the lair of a madman who does all sorts of strange surgeries on kidnapped patients. Mooney is attempting to smart her way out of the situation, but her location is on an island in the middle of nowhere, so escaping will take some doing.

Since the character will not return for a season 2, we can only suspect that she might meet her end in spectacular fashion, or go out on a high.

We'd love to see Fish Mooney return to Gotham one last time to cause some serious problems for Penguin before she is ousted. Hopefully, the writers are thinking the same thing because right now Gotham needs all the boost it can get.

At the end of the day, though, if the writers do choose to keep Mooney alive, then they might also choose to get another actress to replace Jada for future episodes.

How can this be done?

Well, Mooney is currently trapped with the crazy Dulmacher, a man who is a magnificent surgeon. All he needs to do is replace Mooney's face with that of another. Jada walks away and a new actress steps in to take her place as the new and improved Fish Mooney.

Sounds good? Yeah, we thought so.
