All the available downloadable content for Titanfall by Respawn Entertainment is currently free for both Xbox One and Xbox 360 video game consoles.

There has been no official announcement yet made by Respawn Entertainment, Electronic Arts or Microsoft regarding the sudden giveaway of DLC for the futuristic first-person shooter. However, making the DLC free could be tied to the first anniversary since the release of the game, as Titanfall was launched on March 11, 2014 for Windows PC and Xbox One.

The free DLC packs were revealed through a Twitter post by user Wario64, providing links to the pages of the three downloadable map packs on the Xbox Games Store that indeed show the price of the DLC to be at $0.00.

The DLC maps, namely, IMC Rising, Frontier's Edge and Expedition, can be purchased one by one from the Xbox Games Store for free by Xbox One gamers. Users may also choose to purchase the Titanfall season pass, which has similarly been made free.

For gamers using the previous-gen Xbox 360, the DLC maps are also free. However, the season pass for the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall is still listed at $24.99.

Gamers playing the Windows PC version of Titanfall are out of luck though, as the free DLC does not seem to apply to that platform of the game. EA's Origin still shows each DLC with their original price of $9.99 each, and the season pass for the game still at $24.99.

Expedition, released on May 15, 2014, is the first DLC pack for Titanfall, featuring three new maps namely Runoff, Swampland and Wargames that are set in new worlds across the Frontier. Frontier's Edge followed just over two months later on July 31, 2014, similarly including three new maps namely Dig Site, Export and Haven. IMC Rising, the third and most recent DLC pack for Titanfall, was released on Sept. 25, 2014 and features three new maps namely Backwater, Sandtrap and Zone 18.

Titanfall was one of the first huge exclusives for the Xbox One, but Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen almost confirmed that the sequel to the video game will not be exclusive to Microsoft's gaming consoles.

"Last year it was on the Xbox only; in the future, we haven't yet announced, but we'll probably have another Titanfall game. It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that's a huge positive for us," Jorgensen said during the Technology, Internet & Media Conference.
