Meet Fritz. Fritz is a golden retriever. Fritz could not catch food in his mouth if his life depended on it.

Now dogs are supposed to be rather adept at catching. How many times have we seen a dog make an incredible catch in the movies? Too many. And the movies wouldn't lie to us, would they?

In reality, however, some dogs are more talented at making epic catches than others. Case in point: Fritz the golden retriever. Fritz's food-catching fails have been documented in a video that is now going viral with more than 450,000 views on YouTube at the time of this writing.

In the nearly two-minute clip, Fritz tries and fails to catch everything from steak to a doughnut to a taco. Every time the human hand in the video readies the food to be thrown, Fritz looks so hopeful with a future so full of promise. He opens his mouth as wide as it can go to make the catch, but unfortunately the food ends up everywhere except Fritz's mouth every time. I'm pretty sure Fritz's struggle is a metaphor for life.

Oh well. I have a feeling that Fritz probably just ate all of this food off of the ground anyway. He is a golden retriever, not a golden catcher, after all.
