The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot was met with severe criticism from critics and moviegoers alike, but that did not stop the film from making over $485 million worldwide. It's the reason why Paramount Pictures is creating a sequel with the subtitle Half-Shell.

The information comes from a very unlikely source in the form of basketball star J.J. Redick. The player, along with a small number of other players from the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers, is expected to have a small role in the movie.

We should bear in mind that Redick is not a professional actor, so there is a chance the subtitle Half-Shell is just a working title that could be changed before the official announcement. If it is indeed called Half-Shell, we wouldn't have a problem because the name has been linked with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise for decades.

The first movie gave audiences a new take on the Turtles. Compared to what many fans have come to love over the years, these new Turtles are huge, but their sense of humor and love for pizza are no different.

The movie was all about taking down the Shredder, along with carving a relationship with April O'Neil, played by Megan Fox.

We watched the movie and came away quite unimpressed with the overall direction it had taken. The story was weak; Megan Fox did not impress as April O'Neil; and the CGI was a bit too much. Then again, we did not expect much of anything from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles since Michael Bay's name is attached to it.

For those who are unaware, the first film was produced by Michael Bay, and we are hearing he'll produce the second one as well.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Half-Shell is set for a June 3, 2016 release. All the main cast will return to reprise their roles.
