Furious 7 is the hottest movie on the block right now, and there is nothing at the box office to give it a run for its money. That is why the industry is expecting the film to open big with a massive $115 million.

Should the latest sequel in Universal Pictures' 14-year-old franchise manage to walk away with $115 million at the box office, it would set a huge April record, one that could be very difficult for future films to surpass.

So far, The Fast and the Furious franchise has earned more than $2 billion, and with the death of Paul Walker as a driving force, we wouldn't be surprised if it went on to make close to a billion dollars before it runs out of steam. It is quite plausible, especially since critics are giving the film good marks.

The movies from The Fast and the Furious series are also excellent representations of diversity in films. They have been doing it long before this theme became cool in Hollywood. Not only is the cast diverse, but the fans are as well, which is to be expected.

The first installment to this popular franchise opened at the box office back in 2001, and by then, no one expected the movie to become so famous that it would manage to run for 14 long years. It's a miracle because after the first film, it went downhill for a while before bouncing back to what it is today.

The new film is a direct sequel to Furious 6, as the brother of the villain of that film makes an appearance in this one with vengeance in his heart. He wants to kill everyone involved in the death of his brother, and since Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his "family" are the ones who did the deed, they are now targets.

Furious 7 has a whole month to destroy the box office before Avengers: Age of Ultron releases in theaters across the United States.
