Next week, Gotham returns from a six-week hiatus, with the final four episodes of its first season.

This past weekend, the cast and producers of the series hosted a panel at Wondercon and gave some insight into what's going to happen next on the show.

So what can we expect? We've got a sneak peek of the rest of season one and some new information on season two.

Please note that the following contains some spoilers. Keep reading at your own peril.

Fish Mooney escapes Dr. Dulmacher's island

In a clip shown exclusively at Wondercon, Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) attempts her first escape from the island where Dr. Dulmacher is keeping her. Although her attempt is unsuccessful, she vows that she will escape the island or die trying.

She will eventually escape and then she and Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) get a reunion. We're guessing that might not go well.

"(They) have a reunion when she returns to Gotham," says Taylor. "He learned everything about Gotham City from her. Even though that relationship is fraught and dramatic, Oswald still respects her."

However, either someone kills Mooney or she skips town, because we already know she'll be absent in season two as Smith announced she's leaving the series.

Gordon chases down the Ogre

The final four episodes of this season will see Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) tracking down a serial killer that targets young women called the Ogre (Milo Ventimiglia).

Interestingly enough, there is also an upcoming scene where the Ogre, aka Jason Lennon, kisses Barbara, Gordon's ex-fiancée. Does that mean that Barbara is one of the Ogre's targets? Let's just say that Barbara isn't known for her smart choices in the series.

Bruce learns the truth about Wayne Enterprises

In a teaser for the next episode of the series, Bruce and Selina confront Reggie, and potentially learn about the deep level of corruption at Wayne Enterprises. This, obviously, puts both children at significant risk, but we're hoping this means that Alfred gets to kick some more butt while protecting them.

Also in season 2, we'll see Bruce finally become the Bruce Wayne of the comics, with a public persona of a party boy. However, this is only a facade that he uses while he secretly continues the investigation of his parents' murders.

Edward Nygma gets darker

We've seen it throughout season 1, but we'll see Nygma getting darker, and potentially more like the Riddler as events unfold. We're pretty sure this has something to do with the unrequited love he has for Kris Kringle.

The villains of Gotham's season two

So far, producers of Gotham have confirmed the following villains from DC Comics appearing in season 2 of the series: Hugo Strange, Tommy Elliott, Mr. Freeze, Clayface and Mad Hatter. And if you're wanting more of Jerome (who may or may not be the Joker), producers promise more of him, too.

"We always want to walk the fine line of the reality of our world," says producer John Stephens. "Walking right up to that line where super-villains live. So there are a lot of characters from Batman lore that fit that bill. People like Victor Freeze - who's a science villain. You can play a lot of his abilities without going into the world of superheroes. Clayface and Mad Hatter are both villains we're going to bring in. They both have great back stories and great personalities. Clayface especially is a character I want to [explore]."

There was also a mention of the Court of Owls eventually being on the series, but Stephens wouldn't confirm it. However, it plays very well into the idea that Wayne Enterprises has some villainy within its ranks, so leaving out the Court of Owls would be a major oversight on the series' part.

Meanwhile, here's a preview for next week's episode, "Beasts of Prey:"
