Captain Marvel is coming along quite nicely after it was reported that Marvel Studios has acquired two female writers to help bring the film and character to life. We understand that both women will work together on the script instead of bringing forth individual work.

We also understand the writers are Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman and Disney's Inside Out transcriber Meg LeFauve. Having one of the co-writers of Guardians of the Galaxy on board could give fans an idea of what type of movie to expect. Moreover, with the right director, Captain Marvel could turn out to be a major hit for Marvel Studios.

Speaking of directors, recent reports have claimed that Angelina Jolie is the front runner to become the director for Captain Marvel.

"Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve will together write Marvel's Captain Marvel, in theaters Nov. 2, 2018, bringing Carol Danvers to the big screen in her first solo cinematic adventure," says Marvel. "Fans will recognize Perlman as the co-writer of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, last year's smash hit introducing audiences to Star-Lord and his crew, while LeFauve most recently co-wrote Disney•Pixar's next original film Inside Out, which will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May before heading to theaters June 19."

For those who are unaware, Captain Marvel has no relation to Shazam, the superhero from DC. Shazam was once known as Captain Marvel, but no longer. Warner Bros. is also working on its own Shazam movie that is slated for a 2018 release date, but the movie could come sooner if the DC Cinematic Multiverse takes shape nicely.

Marvel's Captain Marvel real name is Carol Danvers. She has the powers of enhanced strength, flight, durability, and the ability to shoot energy related powers from her hands. Generic powers indeed, but she's no generic superhero.

At the end of the day, it will all come down to the right director and whether or not the writers can come up with a great script to get things going.
