Next week, everything could change in Central City, at least according to a new preview video released by the CW for the season finale of The Flash.

In this video, we see that Barry commits to traveling into the past in an attempt to save his mom.

Although the video is light on spoilers, we do see him in that familiar scene at his house where his mother was killed, which could mean huge things for the show going forward.

The video shows a scene of the older Barry with his mother as he unveils his identity to her. But will she survive the encounter? And what about the consequences of his actions?

There is a lot that would happen if Barry saves his mom: most notably, if his mom lives, would Barry even become The Flash in the future?

Not to mention, if Barry changes the past, his relationship with Iris forever changes, too, and it's likely he never gets to know her.

We're sure that by now, Barry is aware of these consequences, but what will his final decision be?

As far as what will happen to the other characters during the finale is anyone's guess and the series' actors promise that the season finale will come loaded with a lot of surprises.

"Everyone's not going to see what's coming," says Rick Cosnett, who plays Eddie Thawne on the series. "There's been lots of speculation but I don't think I've seen one person guess correctly. So you're just going to have to be there to see how it all goes down."

The season finale also promises to fill us in on Eobard Thawne (once known as Dr. Harrison Wells), aka Reverse Flash, and what his actual goals and motives are.

"We're not looking to shortchange people," says Tom Cavanagh, who portrays Reverse Flash. "People have been aboard the ride and that lug is going down the funnel."

We'll probably also finally get that big showdown between The Flash and the Reverse Flash, which is something that's been teased throughout the first season of the series.

Whatever happens, though, The Flash season finale should deliver a lot of twists, turns, excitement and even tears, when it airs next Tuesday on The CW.
