Better late than never.

President Obama joined Twitter on Monday with the handle @POTUS, immediately following some of his political contacts, colleges he attended and the hometown Chicago sports teams he roots for.

The Commander-in-Chief followed the official accounts of Chicago Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox. Noticeably absent were the Chicago Cubs. The other Windy City Major League Baseball club definitely let the President know about his rather obvious omission.

But the Cubbies didn't stop there. They kept trolling the President with more tweets.

Now, we understand the Cubs' frustration at being snubbed by one of the most powerful men in the world — but what happened to a little persistence? Trying to get the First Lady to follow the official team account, since the President hasn't – after only hours of his Twitter existence – seems like they already took the loss. It's only his first day on Twitter! There's still time for that follow.

The President already has 984,000 followers — and counting. In turn, he's only following 65 accounts thus far. But Jay Cutler and the Bears over the Cubs, Bam? That's pretty insulting to the ivy-covered walls of Wrigley Field. Hey... maybe he'll follow them on his second day of Twitter...
