Sonos and Google Play Music finally decided to work together. Now, anyone who owns a Sonos speaker and an Android smartphone an connect their smartphone directly to the Sonos speaker and stream music effortlessly. All you need to do is download the Sonos app or update the Google Play Music app on your device.

Once you've connected your smartphone to the Sonos speaker, you'll have access to all the songs you have stored in your Google Play Music library, as well as more than 22 million different tracks to listen to on demand.

"In Google Play Music, we've found a great partner to bring this vision to life for the first time on a global scale," Sonos wrote in a blog post. "Together, we've created a music experience that shows how media, devices, and sound can seamlessly work together in the home."

Users can also create customized radio stations or get a Pandora-like experience with the "I'm Feeling Lucky" radio station. The best part about this radio experience is that you get as many skips as you want and there are no ads. You can also control the volume, skip songs and control every aspect of your music-listening experience remotely using the controls in the app from your smartphone.

The Sonos app also has multiroom control, so if you have more than one Sonos speaker, the music can follow you as you move about the house. Sonos also promises hi-fi sound when used in conjunction with Google Play Music.

If you don't have a Sonos speaker, but this sounds like the wireless speaker experience you've been waiting for, you're in luck because Sonos has three different speakers on the market. The smallest Sonos speaker costs $200 and the largest comes in at $400. The app is free and available for download from the Google Play store now. If you have iOS or Windows Phone, you're out of luck for the moment, but Sonos should expand the app to other operating systems later this spring.

The new partnership between Google Play Music and Sonos makes Play Music the ideal platform to use with Sonos, as Spotify, Pandora and other music-streaming services don't have quite the same level of integration with Sonos.
