Asus outs a new smartphone - the ZenFone Selfie - which as the name suggests specifically targets selfie lovers.
The Taiwan-based company took the wraps off the ZenFone 2 Selfie at the Computex 2015, expanding its line-up of Zen-sational products as the company calls them.
Physically, the ZenFone Selfie resembles the ZenFone 2 and also boasts a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p screen, but with Gorilla Glass 4. The smartphone also touts a pixel density of 403ppi.
"A trailblazing fusion of fashion, technology and craftsmanship that melds the finest front and rear cameras, multiple special shooting modes, fluid ZenUI interface and a stunning, detail-rich display for a unique selfie experience that captures the perfect you," says Asus.
The smartphone weighs just 170gms and it has a 13MP front-facing camera for selfie lovers. Barring the high resolution, the camera also boasts dual-tone flash, auto focus, wide view, and PixelMaster. The PixelMaster selfie experience packs in modes such as beautification, ZenMotion, HDR, Selfie Panorama, and low light. The front-facing camera also has an f/2.2 aperture, making for better group pictures.
The rear-facing camera is also 13MPs and features laser autofocus, f/2.0 aperture, PixelMaster, and Auto-Focus.
The fact that both the primary and secondary cameras of the smartphone support low light photography is a major plus for the ZenFone Selfie.
Another neat feature is the ZenMotion to which users can take selfies with a simple swipe on the phone. Simply draw an S on the screen, grin and shoot! You can also create different gestures of your own for this purpose!
The Selfie Panorama mode is also pretty nifty for taking group selfies thanks to the 88-degree field of view.
"With this special wide-angle mode and ZenFone Selfie's f/2.2-aperture front lens and 88-degree field of view, you'll capture panoramic selfies of up to 140 degrees," says Asus.
To power the smartphone, Asus has housed the octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor under the hood. The ZenFone Selfie also has a 3,000mAh battery.
The ZenFone selfie is expected to pack-in either 2GB or 3GB of RAM depending on the model i.e. 16GB or 32GB.
The smartphone will also come with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and come in several hues: Pure White, Chic Pink, Aqua Blue, Glacier Gray, Sheer Gold and Glamour Red.
The pricing and when Asus will make the smartphone available for retail is not yet known.
