The official Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice synopsis is here, and from what we can tell, it appears as if Doomsday will play a significant role in getting the Justice League together.

Many fans have been very vocal about Doomsday possibly making an appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, including well-renowned movie critic John Campea from AMC Movie Talk.

We can understand why some folks are angry since Doomsday is one of the best villains in the DC Comic Universe. However, we should bear in mind that the character is nothing but a brute who just wants to smash things. The character is not very smart and, thus, is not good enough to have a two-hour movie centered on him.

Having Doomsday as the threat that warrants the creation of the Justice League is a far better use of the character. Sure, it is easy to create a whole story around Doomsday where comics are concerned, but doing this with a movie is suicide, which is probably why one-half of Batman v Superman will have both heroes trying to get to know each other, while the other half will have the heroes coming together to take down a beast that not even Superman alone can defeat.

Of course, these are all rumors and speculation, but several credible sources have been reporting for quite some time now that Doomsday and Lex Luthor are the main bad guys. At the moment, it is not certain if Doomsday will be a creation of Kryptonians or a pet project of Lex Luthor to remove Superman from his high horse.

We believe there's a possibility for Lex Luthor to locate Doomsday's DNA via the destroyed Kryptonian ship. He probably sees a way to destroy Superman since Doomsday is a creature that wants to kill all Kryptonians. Luthor might believe he could work alongside this beast but later finds out that Doomsday's taste for blood doesn't end with Superman.

At the end of the day, we can only hope Zack Snyder finds a smart way to bring Doomsday into the fray.
