All signs are pointing to Motorola officially announcing a 2015 flagship Moto X in the near future. The company just announced that the current Moto X (2014) is now available for $299 off-contract and includes a free 30-day risk-free trial.

We recently reported that leaked screen shots of what are reportedly Motorola's next-generation Moto X (2015) hit the Internet, revealing the smartphone's specs. The new Moto X will adopt a 5.2-inch 2560 by 1440 quad-HD display, which will allow it to compete with rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and LG G4 in terms of screen resolution.

The new Moto X is also expected to be user-customizable through Motorola's Moto Maker site, which lets customers build the smartphone to their taste by choosing different colors and material fronts, backs and trim options. In what appears to be an effort to clear out some of its inventory of the current Moto X (2014), the company has cut the price of the smartphone through the end of June.

Motorola has just announced on its official blog that the company is embracing the shift to more and more customers choosing off-contract smartphones and has cut the price of the off-contract Moto X (2014) to $299 (after $50 mail-in rebate).
