Developers of XCOM 2 confirmed that the game, which is a sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, will be exclusively available on the PC. Last week, the game's new trailer debuted at E3, which featured gameplay footage that lasted 10 minutes.

By pushing the game to the PC, developers have that much-needed space for adding upgraded features. These include the use of both individual and team strategies in carrying out fight plans and a more interactive screen display, which is significant to the game's procedurally generated levels.

Apart from featuring several improvements to the original gameplay, the 10-minute video also revealed the game's new character types, more weapon options and new enemies to encounter. These include the new Viper and Advent faction.

An overview of the game gives an idea of what the players, also referred to as XCOM forces, should target as an integral part of their mission.

"Only those who live at the edges of the world have a margin of freedom. Here, a force gathers once again to stand up for humanity. Always on the run, the remnant XCOM forces must find a way to rise from the ashes, expose the insidious truth behind the occupation, and eliminate the alien threat once and for all," read the story overview.

Based on the video, the game didn't appear to be as destructive or as violent as other alien-focused games. There is no all-out war being staged or an invasion of the ruling aliens' headquarters.

The scene depicted in the video was taken at a conference venue, which was sponsored by Advent. Players should bring down the security and Advent member. All of these should be done as stealthily as possible.

The game's focus on carrying out the mission by using stealthy tactics seemed to be more acceptable in the beginning. As the game progressed, however, it became more and more apparent that, in some situations, using tactics other than being stealthy could also be more useful.

"The original XCOM made its debut in 1994 and quickly cemented itself as one of the most influential tactical-strategy games of all time. The XCOM series has seen multiple installments since, culminating in 2012's reboot, XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Now, as we prepare to launch XCOM 2 this November, we look back on the last 21 years that lead up to this point," stated XCOM on its official site.

XCOM 2 is slated to come out in November this year.
