Canadian customers will be able to enjoy six month of the full Google Play Music service for free, provided they purchase a Samsung Galaxy S6.
Just last week, Google Play Music added a free new tier supported by ads, but that option is not supported in Canada as well. Google is expected to extend the courtesy north of the border in the future, but for now Canadian customers don't have access to that tier.
Nevertheless, there's a neat workaround now for customers in Canada who want to enjoy more of Google Play Music. Samsung Canada has just announced that music fans will be able to enjoy the full Google Play Music experience in Canada, getting six moths for free when purchasing the Samsung Galaxy S6.
This is a limited-time offer, however, and users can also benefit from some free Google Play Music service when buying other Samsung handsets. The difference is that other Samsung smartphones besides the Galaxy S6 will come with only three months of Google Play Music, not six.
The free subscription part of this promotion will include all of the Google Play Music catalog, which consists of more than 30 million songs, in addition to carefully curated radio stations and playlists for various moods and occasions. Users have already been able to add 50,000 songs from their personal collection to Google Play Music and stream them for free, and this feature is still available.
According to Mobile Syrup, Samsung Canada also says it will send teams to conduct interactive demos of the product at various music festivals that will take place this summer in Canada.
It remains unclear for now just when this promotion is set to expire, but this six-month Google Play Music free subscription will likely make the Samsung Galaxy S6 even more attractive.
