Still seething after shelling out $100 to watch the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Manny Pacquiao mega bout, only to see the May 2 "Fight of the Century" fizzle into nothing more than another uneventful, lackluster unanimous-decision win for Mayweather?

Well, the undefeated champion seems to have a sore spot for boxing fans let down by that bout and may have an apt way of making it up to them — by holding his final fight on free television via CBS, instead of another high-priced pay-per-view on Showtime.

CBS Sports is reporting that Mayweather is strongly contemplating hosting his final match on CBS for a possible September 12 fight date and is allegedly working on a list of opponents. A source told CBS that such an announcement could even be made before the end of this week.

Hosting a fight on CBS – a scenario in which boxing fans wouldn't have to cough up a penny – would essentially be Mayweather's tipping of the cap in salute to the fans who have supported him throughout his legendary career.

Since CBS is subsidiary of Showtime Networks – which has Mayweather on contract – making his final fight in September on CBS a doable move.

In speaking with FightHype.com in June, Mayweather even named boxer Andre Berto as an opponent he's strongly considering meeting in the ring for what would be the champ's 49th and last career fight... unless Money wins and decides to end his flawless career with a 50th victory.
