The online sales of Apple Watch have surpassed 3 million in the U.S. through July 10, which is precisely three months since the company started taking pre-orders of the wearable.

Slice Intelligence, a market research company, has released the data about Apple Watch exclusively to MacRumors. The average price of the Apple Watch sold was $505.

The MacRumors report reveals that the entry-level Apple Watch Sport was the most popular version among customers amongst early adopters. Since April 10, Apple sold about 1,950,909 units of the Apple Watch Sport model at $381 on an average. The stainless steel model of the Apple Watch accounted for 1,086,569 units at an average price tag of $695.

Only 1,875 units of the Apple Watch Edition were sold from April 10 through to July 10 with an average value of $13,700. The Apple Watch Edition is the most-expensive Apple Watch that has a price tag of between $10,000 and $17,000 and has been seen on the hands of some of the popular celebrities such as Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, Kanye West, Drake and Beyonce.

The data from Slice Intelligence represents only online purchases and excludes all purchases made at Apple brick and mortar stores. Apple Watch is sold in many countries such as the UK, Australia, China, France, Canada, Mexico, South Korea and more but the Slice Intelligence data is only for the U.S.

Earlier in July, Market Watch released data collected from Slice Intelligence that suggested that the online sales of Apple Watch declined from an average of 20,000 units per day in May to 10,000 units or less in June this year. Apple Watch sales also dropped to as low as 4,000 to 5,000 units per day during end June.

Slice Intelligence had previously estimated that Apple will get pre-order for 1 million units of Apple Watch at launch. The research firm also estimated that the company will sell an average of 30,000 units of Apple Watch per day in late May and an estimated sales total of 2.8 million units by mid-June.

Slice Intelligence's Apple Watch sales estimates are based on e-receipt data that the company collected from online shoppers in the U.S., who have opted to get their inboxes tracked for email receipts.

Apple has not yet released any official data regarding the sales of Apple Watch.
