Marvel plans on offering a series of animated shows on Disney XD, starting this fall, and now the company has released the first trailer for one of those shows, Guardians of the Galaxy.

The trailer, which hit IGN yesterday, starts with a description of the guardians: "They're a little bit good. A little bad. And a little bit of both." And of course, all our favorite Guardians characters are present: Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Gamora and Drax.

Unfortunately, though, the animated series has different actors playing those familiar roles we know from 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Will Friedle is the voice of Peter Quill/Star-Lord and joining him is Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon, Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot, Vanessa Marshall as Gamora and David Sobolov as Drax.

The video is more of a teaser than an actual trailer, but it gives us an idea of what the animation and voice acting will look like when the series premieres.

"[The series] follows the newly formed team who finds a strange artifact keyed only to the DNA of Peter Quill," writes IGN. "Upon opening it, Quill unleashes a treasure map leading to a powerful weapon known as the Cosmic Seed, which is capable of giving birth to the next universe. It's up to the Guardians to find, protect and ultimately destroy the Cosmic Seed in order to keep it out of the hands of those who would abuse its power, from galactic big boss Thanos, to the conniving brothers the Collector and the Grandmaster, to a resurrected Ronan, to the ultimate trickster, Loki, in order to save the universe."

The Guardians of the Galaxy animated series gets a sneak peek on Disney XD on Sept. 5, with the official premiere date being Sept. 26.

Marvel also has plans for other animated series on Disney XD and recently released posters promoting those series.
