PC gamers rejoice because Konami has just announced that the PC version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be available on Sept. 1 – the same day as the game will be made available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

This is a change from previous announcements, where PC gamers thought they would have to wait two extra weeks before they can get their hands on the game while console gamers get first dibs on it.

Preorders are currently being accepted on Steam, where early-birds will also get a bonus copy of the game's prologue, Metal Gear Solid IV: Ground Zeroes for free. Everyone who orders the game via Steam will also get a collector's video with behind-the-scenes footage, a documentary and a unique DLC – a Venom Snake emblem and a Mother Base staff.

According to a statement from Konami, this change in schedule came as a response to PC gamers' continuous online protests for Metal Gear Solid V for the PC to be released along with the console versions.

Although the company did not think they would make the deadline, they were happy to announce that through hard work, they are able to meet their fans' demands.

“We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers," said Tomotada Tashiro, President of Konami Digital Entertainment B.V.

"Now PC users will be able to explore the vibrant and beautifully-realised locations and set-pieces that elevate METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN beyond all other action titles. We feel confident that Steam users will be satisfied with the contents we will provide for the Steam version," he adds.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for PC will boast 4K resolution support and extended graphic settings, and if so-called PC Master Race gamers are to be believed, the PC port of the game still seems the far superior option to console gaming in terms graphic resolution as shown in some comparison screenshots released by Konami.

One more bonus for Steam customers, they will also get bonus Metal Gear Solid trading cards with their copy of The Phantom Pain.
