It's official, it has now been confirmed that a Flight of the Conchords movie is in the works (if you're into it, that is).

Jemaine Clement, one-half of the comedy musical duo that also features Bret McKenzie, confirmed in an interview with Indiewire that the two have started working on a script to bring the Flight of the Conchords' brand of musical comedy to the big screen.

"We have actually started writing one," Clement said. "But who knows if it will ever be made, we've written some notes for some different film ideas. We're not down to the stage where we're going, 'The film is going to be like this,' it could be this, this, this, this, this."

Of course, that's hardly a real confirmation that a film will ever come to screen, but every film starts with a script, right?

In the meantime, Clement also spoke about a potential Flight of the Conchords tour that got a mention by the duo a while ago but got delayed due to Clement's acting commitments.

"But we are hoping to announce a tour," he said. "We'll announce it before the end of the year, hopefully, and then some time next year get on the road ... after we get some new guitar strings and that sort of thing."

Clement also spoke with Indiewire about his upcoming film, People Places Things, which has him taking a departure from the Conchords kind of comedy to something more real. Calling the work he did in the film, "different," he also referred to it as "more like real life."

Of course, you can also hear Clement in the current spate of DirecTV commercials, as a horse.

People Places Things is out now in theaters, as well as available as video on demand.

Next year, Clement stars in Stephen Spielberg's adaptation of Roald Dahl's Big Friendly Giant.
