Bungie plans to reveal all of the big changes coming in The Taken King expansion for Destiny with a series of livestream events starting on August 19. The first livestream will be looking at how dramatic changes to character progression, loot and more will change Destiny for the better, with two more livestreams to follow in the coming weeks.

We know some of those changes already, but a new teaser trailer released ahead of Wednesday's stream promises that we don't yet know everything.

First up is a look at Nathan Fillion's character Cayde-6 in new, story-focused cutscenes. Bungie has said storytelling is a big priority in The Taken King, and these cutscenes look to add a greater sense of purpose to Destiny's upcoming story missions.

We get a quick look at the game's new upgrade materials, faction allegiances and more; all major changes from the original game that Bungie shipped almost a year ago. Quests are receiving a major facelift as well. The game's story missions will now be grouped together into cohesive quest lines, telling a more complete story and making it even simpler to keep track of the game's various missions.

Bungie will also be talking about the level 25 character boost, the new "Armsday" event and much, much more, including exotic weapon blueprints. We don't know details yet, but it looks like players will be able to craft exotic weapons.

Oh, and of course the trailer is filled with gorgeous footage of new enemies, locations and player abilities. Check out the footage for yourself below.

Be sure to tune in to Bungie's livestream starting at 11 a.m. PT August 19, and be on the lookout for plenty of Destiny news in the coming weeks as gamers prepare for The Taken King's September 15 release date.
