There's a rumor going around of George Miller being pegged by Warner Bros. to direct a possible Man of Steel 2 movie in the future. If such is the case, then the director would finally, after a long time, get a real chance at putting his stamp on a DC property.

The first Man of Steel film was a success at the box office, but not in a huge way since it failed to cross the billion-dollar mark. The movie was also viewed as a disappointment due to how it was directed by Zack Snyder and also due to the dark turn the film took in the final battle.

Despite all of that, the Man of Steel has a huge following patiently looking forward to his next solo outing.

The big question right now is whether or not George Miller is capable of making an entertaining movie out of Man of Steel 2. We've seen what the man can do with Mad Max: Fury Road, so we trust he knows his stuff. However, a superhero movie is a completely different ball game.

Back in the past, Miller was brought on by Warner Bros. to direct a Justice League movie, but as we all know, those plans hit rock bottom and never materialized. We're glad it didn't because the whole thing was a reactionary move by Warner Bros. to one-up the planned Avengers movie by Marvel Studios at the time.

Chances are, it would have turned out to be a pile of garbage, and we wouldn't have wanted that.

With all that known, it is still tough to decide whether or not George Miller is the man for the job. We didn't get to see his Justice League movie, and the only well-known films under his belt are the Mad Max movies, Babe, and Happy Feet.

Not a diverse resumé, but let's face it, we've seen virtually unknown directors come out of the shadows and do great work, so nothing is stopping George Miller from doing the same.

If he can bring the same dedication he brought to Mad Max: Fury Road, then Man of Steel 2 should be in great hands—well, considering the rumor is true.
