The Dark Knight III: The Master Race #1 comic is currently being written by Frank Miller and Brian Azzarello. Fans are no doubt excited, but what can they expect to see?

From the latest images released by DC Comics, it is clear that, for some characters, things are not going as planned. For example, the new Robin, Carrie Kelly, has been captured by what appears to be government forces, and can be seen walking in chains.

We're not certain how this happened, but it should come as no surprise. The big question, however, is what will happen to Kelly while in government confinement. Despite her skills, she is still a young woman and could be vulnerable to many threats.

We also understand that she has evolved from being Robin and now goes by the name Catgirl. Still, it is not yet certain if she still keeps a close relationship with Bruce Wayne since we know the old man tends to shun those around him.

Another cover exclusively revealed by IGN shows Batman in his mechanical suit choking a bloodied-face Superman. This will likely not sit well with many Superman fans. These were not fans of the first story where Batman gave the Man of Steel a beating that left his face looking like a poorly grown potato.

Why would Batman and Superman fight again, and how could Superman allow a mere mortal to beat him a third time? The whole thing is confusing right now. No wonder fans are already screaming foul.

For those who are wondering, yes, Batman defeated Superman a second time in The Dark Knight Returns with the help of the Flash.

Despite the many red flags, we desperately want to read these comics to understand what is going on, and whether or not Miller has returned from the depths of all the terrible stories he has told to bring magic to comic books once more.

If he fails, well, he probably won't get the chance to touch another DC-related character ever again.
