It's really no secret that Dell is working on an upcoming 2-in-1 tablet. As we already saw last month, a few leaked images along with a some technical specifications of the rumored XPS 12 suggests that the device is aimed to rival the Microsoft's Surface lineup and Apple's iPad Pro. Now, a new set of leaked photos and rumored specifications of the device has once again surfaced, courtesy of a German news outlet and Dell Malaysia.

Dell Malaysia posted a "coming soon" page for the XPS 12 prior to the official launching of the rumored device. While the page may no longer exist on its website, some folks have managed to obtain a few details.

Sources say the website claimed that the new device comes with an impressive 4K display and touts an "innovative magnetic connection," suggesting that the XPS 12 may be converted from a tablet into a laptop-like device, thanks to its detachable keyboard dock.

The German news website, WinFuture, however, uncovered more purported details of this 2-in-1 tablet.

Rumored specs include a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel display, a 30 WHr battery, an Intel Core M Skylake processor, which will be available with Core M3 or M7 options, an Active Pen, a 4K ultra-HD display and a sharp IGZO panel which boasts 352 pixels per inch for crystal clarity.

Other specs that we have so far are the M.2 SATA solid state drive, 8MP rear and 5MP front-facing cameras, an SD card reader, two Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C ports, a Bluetooth 4.1, as well as a dual-band 802.11ac Wi-FI. Additionally, the device is expected to house 4GB or 8 GB of RAM.

What's also worth noting from the leaked specs is that the device will be equipped with two variants of keyboard dock: a lighter and slimmer version and a thicker one which comes with extra ports, including two full-sized USB ports, an additional USB Type-C port, as well as an HDMI port.

The tablet will likewise be built with a magnesium alloy housing which makes it more stunning.

If the rumored specifications for the XPS 12 are true, it seems that Surface Pro 4 and the iPad Pro have already a strong competitor.

In the meantime, the Dell World 2015 is slated later this month in Austin, Texas. Reports speculate that it is very likely that the release of this hotly awaited device is just around the corner.
