ESPN officially parted ways with longtime sports personality Jason Whitlock last week.

Whitlock was hired by the Worldwide Leader in Sports in August 2013 to be the founding editor for a new website, The Undefeated, which still hasn't launched yet. Although their split was described as "mutual" by an ESPN spokesperson in a Sports Illustrated article this past Sunday, it doesn't seem to be sitting too well with Whitlock at all.

On Tuesday morning, Whitlock took to his Twitter account to tease what he's calling "The Explanation 2.0," which he vows will roll out all the details of his tenure with ESPN.

When one of his followers commented that he doesn't work well with others, Whitlock retorted:

He then proceeded to take aim at apparent inconsistencies with how ESPN handles controversial situations, specifically mentioning Stephen A. Smith threatening Kevin Durant to watch his words as something that ESPN deems as "promotable," while accusing NFL commissioner Roger Goodell of being a liar is something that the network rules is "fireable."

Whatever comes of Whitlock's "The Situation 2.0," he's not the only former ESPN employee taking shots at the network.

Bill Simmons recently threw some darts at ESPN over its coverage of Deflategate and how NFL commissioner Roger Goodell handled it.
