Facebook is showing a weird picture that appears after users log off. The image does not look very modern and does not go well with Facebook's aesthetic.

Facebook, a social networking service, was launched in February 2004. Since then the social media website has expanded at a very rapid pace and there is no looking back for the company. Online statistics portal Statista suggests that Facebook as of August this year Facebook was the most popular social network in the world.

"As of the second quarter of 2015, Facebook had 1.49 billion monthly active users. In the third quarter of 2012, the number of active Facebook users had surpassed 1 billion," per Statista.

Facebook has improved quite a lot since it first started. The company has introduced improved features and getter graphics to lure in more customers. However, the image that shows up on the page after a user has logged off seems pretty old and not very Facebook-like.

Users also get a message at the bottom of the picture that reads "Thanks for stopping by! We hope to see you again soon."

The image seems to be one of those from PowerPoint version 1999, which were available for free. The picture shows a couple coming out of a door while holding hands and looking very cheerful. Are users supposed to be very happy when they log off from Facebook?

The image may have gone unnoticed by many Facebook users. There are many Facebook users who do not log off their accounts, which perhaps is the reason they have never seen the image.

Facebook has not yet revealed any information about the image and it remains to be seen if it appears for a long time or if the social media service will change it soon.
