Warner Bros. is happy to announce that its new Batman TV series on Fox, titled "Gotham," is slated to make its big debut at the San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 26. The show has been building Bat-buzz over the last few months, and its premiere in front of the discerning fans at the convention is the ideal testing ground for the series

The Warner Bros. TV and DC Entertainment product has a solid pedigree behind it, and it looks like this will have to satiate fans until "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" hits theaters in two years. "Gotham" follows the young, idealistic Detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and his corrupt partner, Detective Harvey Bullock, played by veteran character actor Donal Logue.

San Diego is offering the pilot as a one-time only event, so if you are planning to be at the convention, you will have to brave the long lines and crowds of fans to get into the exhibition hall showing the episode. If you won't be there, you will have to wait until the show's fall premiere on Fox.

On top of "Gotham," a press release from Warner Bros. also promised previews of the studio's other upcoming DC Comics TV shows, including an early look at the pilot for "The Flash," as well as video presentations from the returning hit "Arrow" and a look at the new thriller, "Constantine." Naturally there are going to be some big surprises at the panel, plus members of the cast, producers and updates on projects they are working on.

"Gotham" is marketed as a serious look at the underbelly of Gotham City and the world of crime. Enter: Jim Gordon. He arrives in the city as a young detective looking to crack skulls and help clean up the GCPD. Along the way fans will get to see such icons as the young Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman and the golden boy of Gotham, a recently-orphaned billionaire Bruce Wayne. It seems the woman who runs Gotham's crime is named Fish Mooney, who is played by Jada Pinkett-Smith.

The grit and grime of Gotham City looks to play a pretty big role as well, with a police force that has its hands tied behind its back. "Gotham" is sure to pique the curiosity of the Bat-fan while they wait for Ben Affleck's take on the Caped Crusader in 2016.
