HTC is expected to launch its first smartphone with Google's latest version of Android, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, on Oct. 20. The HTC One A9 has made an appearance on GFXBench, revealing its specs, and a carrier has posted the price of the smartphone.

Now that Google has unveiled its next version of Android, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which will ship with the company's Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, Android smartphone fans are patiently waiting to hear when and if their handset will receive the update.

A recently leaked report provided details on which Samsung smartphones and phablets are slated to receive the update.

Motorola officially announced which of its current smartphone lineup will receive an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, as did HTC.

It now appears that HTC will be one of the first Android smartphone manufacturers to actually ship a handset running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. That device is expected to be the HTC One A9, which we reported on in late August when images of the smartphone leaked online.

The HTC One A9 was spotted on GFXBench, and its results were posted online, confirming the smartphone will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and include other key specs. It will boast a five-inch 1920 by 1080 Full HD display and will be powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, Adreno 405 GPU (graphics processing unit) and 2 GB of RAM.

The benchmark also confirms previous reports that the HTC One A9 will pack in a 12 megapixel rear camera and 4 UltraPixel front-facing shooter for video chat and selfies.

The source also reports that the HTC One A9's price was posted on French carrier Orange's website, which lists the cost of the smartphone at 550 to 600 Euros without contract, or roughly $690. The smartphone is expected to be offered in six color options: gold, silver, garnet, gray, rose gold and cast iron.
