YouTube's gaming-based spinoff, YouTube Gaming, which was set to rival Amazon's video game livestream service Twitch, was launched in August. Now, enthusiasts are treated to the first ever major makeover of the app, version 1.1.
This update is bringing quite a few modifications and additions, including live recording, screencasting, Watch Later and more.
Live Recording and Screencasting
For gamers who wish to broadcast their mobile games across the globe, this feature should be a great one.
This feature will allow gamers to record a video of the device's screen while playing. Players can likewise opt to livestream the mobile games directly to YouTube.
The Go Live option can be spotted on a dropdown menu when tapping the gamer's profile picture at the top right corner of the screen.
This is a classic feature for YouTube. Now, it is landing on YouTube Gaming.
This is an ideal feature for easier video bookmarking. Watch Later is a list of videos users may want to stream later.
One can access the list of videos to watch later in the dropdown menu which shows up when users tap their profile pictures.
Import Gaming Subscriptions
If gamers wish to sync up a variety of their favorite channels into YouTube Gaming, this extra feature is beneficial.
Other Additions And Fixes
Some of the new features and improvements on YouTube Gaming have been identified on the app's description page on Google Play.
Apart from the above-mentioned features, YouTube Gaming's new enhancements include performance improvements, bug fixes and Fan Funding feature, which allows fans to give a tip to creators by tapping the "$" button.
"YouTube Gaming keeps you connected to the games, players, and culture that matter to you," reads the product page. "Featuring videos and live streams with chat — including let's plays, reviews, speedruns, trailers, and more from your favorite gamers and publishers — you can explore the games you care about more deeply than ever before."
An APK for YouTube Gaming 220.127.116.11 is available for download at APKMirror.
Just like any other APKs, users can download and install it on their devices if they don't want to wait for Google to push the download to their devices.
