Forty years have passed since the legendary British comedy "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."

Authored and performed by Monty Python, the British surreal group behind the sketch show "Monty Python's Flying Circus," the film turned out to be a box-office hit and has grossed higher than any British film released in the U.S. in 1975. The comedy group was made up of members Terry Jones, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, John Cleese and Graham Chapman and was directed by Gilliam and Jones. Decades later, the movie has proven itself to be a constant sellout, and is the basis for the Tony award-winning musical "Monty Python's Spamalot."

Just when we thought the fun was over, 14 minutes of never-before-seen footage of Gilliam's animation surfaces on the Internet. This video is in conjunction with the new Limited Edition Castle Catapult Gift Set Blu-ray of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," set for release on Oct. 27.

The never-before-seen footage includes side-splitting commentary from Gilliam himself.

"It's old animation, but it's the animation that was cut out by the rather envious members of the group who were trying to restrain a young talented animator. A man who could have gone on to be a great animator, but no, he was forced into live-action filmmaking to cover the scars," he says in the video.

Gilliam also shares details about the artwork and his creative process for the animation. A book titled "Illustrations in the Margins of Medieval Manuscripts" inspired the artwork for the film. These manuscripts were drawn by monks around the edges of their bibles.

The newly released video includes deleted animations of "The Tale of Sir Lancelot," "The Tale of Sir Robin," "Elephant & Castle," "Meanwhile, King Arthur & Sir Bedevere..." and "Run Away!" The updated trailer comes with new voice-overs from Jones and Palin.
